Waterbased adhesives are generally easy to use and quite forgiving to variances in the ambient conditions of the factory and substrates. However most waterbased adhesives will be damaged if the storage temperature drops below 4°C. Make sure to regulate the temperature of the warehouse.

The hazards associated with emulsions and other water based adhesives are much reduced versus hot melt adhesives. However, there are some basic rules which should be followed to ensure the safety of your operators.

When handling any water based adhesive:

• Wear suitable gloves. Repeated contact may cause skin irritation and dryness.
• Wear eye protection. If adhesive is splashed into the eye wash with plenty of water and seek medical advice.
• Animal glues are used warm or hot. Wear suitable gloves and long sleeves.
