Ultra Pur 820

reactive hot melt with outstanding page pull strength development

The page pull strength development of Ultra Pur 820 accelerates immediately after binding and strengths up to 3 N/cm can be achieved only five minutes after binding on triple coated art paper. Cover tear is achieved directly out of the trimmer and books can be tested directly off the line without costly delays waiting for curing.

Ultra Pur 820 is the first reactive hot melt that will allow you to bind a book block and case it in during the same shift. The strength increases so quickly, that the gilding and casing in operation can begin a few hours after binding, reducing order turn-around times.

The adhesive can be applied through conventional open pot systems as well as the latest slot coating applicators. Ultra Pur 820 has superb stability through both systems. Its rheology is designed for enhanced flow in open pots and clean cut off through slot coating applicators.

Ultra Pur 820 combines incredible adhesion and spine flexibility and is perfect for all styles of books. The high performance tensile properties ensure good lay-flat and the clear colour appears invisible on the book, adding to the overall quality of the publication. And, thanks to its high heat, cold and ink solvent resistance, books keep their looks and age well.
