Low Temperature Spine Glues

Cool-Bind spine glues for all areas of bindingCool-Bind technology low application temperature spine glues

Cool-Bind technology adhesives offer significantly improved adhesion over traditional hot melt adhesives, whilst at the same time helping the binder to reduce costs and improve productivity. Applied at 30°C to 40°C cooler than traditional hot melt adhesives, Cool-Bind technology low application temperature adhesives offer significant benefits to both the binder and ultimately their customers.

Increased "pot" stability

Operating at much cooler temperatures means that the adhesive resists degradation for much longer than an adhesive running at 160°C to 180°C. In simple terms the adhesive is subject to much less change, and an adhesive that does not change means adhesion that doesn't change. Traditional adhesives suffer from viscosity changes and the loss of the lighter chemical agents through evaporation at high temperature. The high temperatures also cause oxidation, which turns burnt adhesive into useless char, which in turn degrades the performance of the binder. Cool-Bind products are up to 10 times more stable than standard hot melt adhesives.

Lower energy requirements

Cool-Bind products use less energy to reach and maintain optimum working temperature.

Improved Safety

Cool-Bind adhesives operate at lower temperatures, helping to reduce the risk of a serious burn, and make working on and around the binder a more pleasant experience. All hot melt adhesives are hot, bringing with them the risk of serious burn. This is why we recommend the use of the correct personal protective equipment at all times.
